Forum Rules


Follow these simple rules and you won't have trouble here at Nutrinopets.
For every rule you break you will receive an Official Warning. If you get 3 official warnings you will be temporarily suspended from posting in the forums. If you get 5 official warnings your account will be banned.

The Basic Rules are:

1. No Flaming

6. Appropriate Signatures (Size: 500 x 150 and 60KB)

8. No advertising or bashing other Pet Sites

Attention-If you feel the need to report an issue on the forums, you must use the report tool. This prevents any accusations of "playing favorites" towards members. We have the report center for a reason. It was implemented to increase response time and handle issues more efficiently. Again, you must use the report feature if you have something that you want a mod to look at.

All clubs coincide with the following forum rules!


1. No Flaming - This includes attacks on people and/or fighting on the boards. This also includes speaking in such ways that could ignite flame wars between other members.

2. Respect the Moderators/Staff Members - If a Moderator or a Staff Member warns you, it's official. Do not post on the boards or flame the staff member. Doing so will result in suspension from the forums or even a ban, depending on the severity. If you think you were unfairly warned, contact twinny.

3. No Profanity - Profanity is against the rules and will constitute a warning. Some words, such as "hell" can be used in some ways, but not in others. Even still, try not to use such words, for children do access this site as well.

4. Post in the Proper Forum - This means if you are posting that items are for sale in your shop, you post it in the "Trading Post" forum, or if you want to role play, it goes in the "Role Playing" forum. If you do not post in the correct forum, it will most likely be moved to the correct forum and you will be reminded of this rule.

5. No Spamming - This includes but is not limited to:
  • Double or Triple posting (or more)
  • Death threads
  • Goodbye threads
  • Return/I'm back threads
  • Referral links
  • Worthless posts such as a topic of "boooo" and a post of "booo"
  • More than 3 active topics (active means on the first page) in any given forum unless otherwise specified (club forums do not fit in this category).
  • Posts only containing emoticons (emoticons are smilies and do not count as a word) or posts that do not pertain to the topic that you have posted in.
  • One word posts also are considered spam and are not tolerated, as these are forums, not chat rooms. You will receive a warning.
  • Posting into topics where you have no reason to post (EX: Somebody needs a banner made, you don't need to post that you cannot do it.). It is unnecessary and will be cited as spam.
  • Any attempts to purposely get your post count high or earn NC will result in your post count and NC being reset, suspension from the forums, and possibly being banned if it continues.
  • Reviving dead threads. (Dead threads are defined as off the first page AND no posts within 24 hours.) The exceptions are update threads created by ticondrius or bigdude.
  • Bumping posts to get them to the top of the forum is a warnable offense. (Bumping is making a post and then deleteing it, or making a post that is not necessary, with then intent to bring a thread back to the top of the forums)


Example of double posting:
Player A: Hey, want to buy my Calkub fruit?
Player A: Hello?? Is anyone there?

You have to wait for someone else to post in between (Player A, Player B, then Player A).



6. Signatures - Signatures must be appropriate. No sexual references and/or profanity is allowed, as with all other parts of the site. You may use 3 lines of text, no more. You are allowed to have more than one image, but each image counts as a line (and you must add the properties up as well.) If you want to use two banners that are under the length limits each, add their height and KB. (Ex: if one banner is 67px in height and 29KB, and the other is 103px in height and 10KB; the KB is within limits, but the height adds up to 170px in height, making it too tall for a signature). The restrictions are 500 pixels by 150 pixels and 60KB. EACH image counts as a line. Blank lines count as a line.

7. Controversial Subjects - Do not make posts about politics, religion, homosexuality or any other subjects that may, can, and/or will cause a volatile environment. It will not be permitted at all on Nutrinopets. If you are unsure if your topic is acceptable, don't post it because it probably isn't.

8. Pet Sites - Talk of other pet sites is allowed as long as there is no advertising in any form. Use of images from other pet sites is also prohibited. Advertising your referral link to any pet site will result in immediate banning. It is not allowed to post your username(s) for any petsite. We know there are other pet sites out there; you don't need to inform the site users about them.

9. No Messenger Chat Invites - That goes for AIM, MSN and any other messenger service. Posting chat invites on the forums is illegal and may very well result in your account being instantly banned. The content of these chats has been found to be extremely inappropriate for some of our members, therefore, they are not allowed.

10. Do Not Post Messenger Screen Names - Linked with rule 9, you are not permitted to post screen names to any messenger service. Posting this on the public forums allows anyone with the access to said forums to see your screen name and can lead to unfavorable situations. If you have to send your screen name to someone, you may do so through nMail only. We are not held responsible for anything that is done by the result of your actions.

11. Non-Moderators Moderating - If you see someone breaking a rule, DO NOT make a post about it - that is unneeded spam. Instead, simply report the infringement using the Report Post link. Leave our jobs to us. You will receive a warning. If you continue, your account will be banned.

12. Chatlogs and other private dialog - If you post a chatlog, msn log, email or any other such thing, it will be deleted and you will recieve a warning. Further incidents will cause you to be banned.
13. Nutrinopets is NOT a Dating Service - Under no circumstances are you to attempt to get an online "date" with someone on Nutrinopets. You never truly know who a person online is if you've never met them in real life. This will not be permitted at all. You will be banned.

14. Begging - Please do not beg other players for items or NC. They worked for what they have earned and so can you. Begging will result in a warning.

16. Languages - English only, including in signatures and profiles.

16. Reports - If it doesn't break a RULE it is not reportable. Reporting someone for being mean or trying to get them in trouble, etc will result in you being warned instead. Abuse of the report system is not tolerated. Make sure you include the reason the thread/nMail/profile is being reported. If you think it might be against the rules, you can still report it, just make sure to cite that you aren't sure if it's against the rules but it might break (insert rule here) rule.

Reporting a Moderator/Staff Member - If you feel you have been wrongfully warned by a Moderator or have a complaint about a staff member, send a detailed explanation to the Senior Moderator (twinny) describing your position. Present yourself in an intelligent and respectful manner if you wish to be taken seriously. Also include proof (such as a link to the thread your warning came from) that you were wrongly warned if it is about an unfair warning. An investigation will be made. Staff member complaints will be brought to the accused Staff Member's attention and/or to the attention of the Nutrinopets Owner(s).
